Books

These are books that have made me think

The Vegetarian Myth: Food, Justice, and Sustainability  by Lierre Keith

Among the most important books I've read todate.  (more to come... still processing)

Walking on Water: Reading, Writing, and Revolution by Derrick Jensen

This book takes on the education system, how we teach, and what institutional education is doing to all of us.  It really made me think about what I am doing with my kids as well as how programed I am, despite my best efforts to break out of the box.  If you are interested in exploring one of the cultural institutions that keeps us in line and inhibits change, you should read this book.  I'd really enjoy discussing it with you when you do.

Hi.

I'm an avid follower of your blog, but not a real commenter. In light of your eating local challenge, though, I thought you might enjoy a book by Barbara Kingsolver:

She's farther south than you, but it might give you some ideas.

Thank you.

Kathy
